Music camp at La Source in August 2016

We are very grateful to the Lord for the music camp that took place the end of August. Forty-five campers of all ages braved narrow mountain roads in the Gard region in order to meet together at “La Source” (The Fountain), a camp and conference center in the heart of the Cévennes mountains. Each day, we enjoyed musical wake-up calls, Bible studies, good meals, energizing rehearsals, and free time. The weather was so beautiful that we were able to have all our meals in the outdoor courtyard. Even the little children got to learn some new music during their Bible club. Everyone appreciated the outing to the Desert Museum followed by a picnic. The Desert Museum tells the story of the French Protestants who were severely persecuted in this region during the “Desert” period (1685-1789).

Each day Pastor Tim Bixby provided rich Bible studies on the subject of worship. The choir and orchestra directors (Isabelle Williams, Estelle Vaiss, and Olivier Hoffmann) did a terrific job teaching several new pieces to campers of various skill levels. Several of the pieces that were performed at the concert on Friday evening were composed or arranged by the members of Ecclémusica. We look forward to what the Lord has in store for the ministry of Ecclémusica!
