O sing unto the Lord a new song :
sing unto the Lord, all the earth.
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits!” Psalm 103.2
The Lord blessed our music conference at the Champfleuri center in Grenoble, France in early November 2017. The fifty participants greatly appreciated the teaching of composer Dan Forrest and pastor Joel Meyer. Dan’s classes were fascinating, even for those who do not compose music. A dozen people played their compositions for him and the rest of the participants during the master classes, and he helped each one with just the right dose of encouragement, critique, and humor. Joel’s preaching encouraged each believer in their service to the Lord.
God gave us beautiful fall weather in the gorgeous Alps setting. We enjoyed wonderful times of fellowship and worked hard to prepare for a closing concert on Saturday evening. We took some time off Friday afternoon to explore the nearby Chartreuse national park. Some drove up in cars, others took a trolley-car, and several athletic types decided to run up the mountain!
We are organizing a follow-up concert in St-Denis on February 24, 2018 in order to allow the participants to put into practice what they learned from Dan in November. All are invited to come hear the compositions of our brothers and sisters and therefore to encourage them to persevere. When God blesses our brethren with artistic gifts, and when His Word dwells richly in their hearts, the resulting songs of praise are a powerful source of edification for our churches!
In upcoming months we will make video/audio recordings of the November conference available to you.
May God receive all the glory!
